What I’ve worked on

My Story

My love of film was sparked by my father regularly stealing me from school to go see a movie through out my childhood. In 2006 at age 14 I got my first job editing ads on to Beta Tapes and running the sound board for live radio broadcasts for a media group in Anchorage, Alaska. My time there gave me my love of camera work as I ran cameras during a wide verity of sports games and events. This time also honed my eye and reflexes for fast paced camera work. Over my career I would work nearly every position in broadcast but would always choose to run a camera if I could. The skills I developed during this time would aid me greatly when I started working on films.

After Working in Radio and Television production for nearly 20 Years I had made my way to the role of TV Program Director. During my time in that role I saw a lack of Christian narrative content. For years I have hoped to address that short coming in Christian television. In 2024 I begun my film making career working on short films as a Director of Photography, Gaffer, and Camera Assistant and a Feature film as a camera PA and electric. I am so excited to see where God will take my career in the years to come.

What People I’ve worked with Say

  • Charles was awesome to work with on Love Unconditional. Having such an experienced and skilled DP made the project so much fun for me as a first time director. He took my ‘this is what I want the audience to feel’ and turned it into some fantastic shots that captured the performances in the exact way I wanted. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a talented and versatile DP who’s willing to do whatever he can to make the project a success.

Katherine Larson - Director of “Love Unconditional”

  • Working with Charles was an absolute pleasure. He’s a person that takes charge and pays attention to the details that help keep a team moving quickly and efficiently. He is meant for a key position.

Ryan McMichael - Key Gaffer on “Miracle on the Precipice”

  • Charles was great to work with as first AC and he made my job very easy as he covered the logistics of the camera department. He kept everything efficient and safe as we worked in the mountains.

Jed Volkman - Director of Photography on “After Death”

  • I really enjoyed working with Charles as his 1st AC on Love Unconditional. The director knew exactly what she wanted, and as the DP Charles followed her vision well.

Tae Jong Kim - 1st AC on “Love Unconditional”

  • Charles is a very dedicated individual. As my gaffer, he had a photographers eye as well as being a good planner who thought two to three steps ahead. He had the perfect combo of skills I would want in a gaffer.

Jonah Lovell - Director of “Take the Cake”

  • A great 1st AC on Job 51. Reliable, always having the camera ready to roll a few minutes after ariving on set. Having him on set made my job easier knowing I could count on him to not only keep batteries charged but being willing to hold the Cam A rig when I needed a rest

Jacob Pointer - Director of Photography on “Job 51”

  • Everything Charles did or needed was always communicated with refreshing straightforwardness. He always made all his set-ups deliberate, putting extra care into making sure the lighting was exactly right
